Online classes and common mistakes
There are some common mistakes and errors made by students in online classes. These mistakes can often cost the students a lot and also affect their future employment chances. Some of these mistakes are-
Selection of course on the basis of fees
Saving money is a good idea but not at the cost of your career. There are various kinds of online institutes some provide for higher cost fees while other charge nominal amounts. But the selection of an online college on the basis of their low cost fees can result in more disadvantages for the students. Usually the low cost online colleges have hidden charges and fees, which the students are not aware of. As a result they often end up paying more for the course compared to most of the online colleges. Hence students should be certain about the fee and payment structure of these institutions before enrolling for the same.
Taking admission in non accredited online colleges
The non accredited online colleges may provide students with lower fee structures and other benefits but in the long run they can ruin your career. Accredited institutes are recognized by the government and are marketable. This means that the students can get employment and job opportunities after their courses are completed. But the non accredited colleges usually do not have marketability and hence getting a job can be difficult. Often such students have to settle for lower paying jobs as compared to their qualifications.
Extending semesters
Usually the students have the options of extending their semesters while opting for a course but this option should only be availed by those who are mentally weaker or those who are not physically fit to complete more subjects in a semester. The charges of extended semesters can be a costly affair.
Online courses are easier
This is one common mistake which is made by most students who assume that online colleges are much easier in their course matter and curriculum. Hence they pay less attention to studies and focus their attention on other avenues. But online courses require a lot of hard work, completion of assignments and studying. Else you can fare badly in your semester which could lead to repeating a semester. This reflects badly on the report cards and overall performance in the course. Hence the study matter for online colleges should also be done with the same dedication and alertness like the regular educational institutions.
